Xmas recap and the new year

Well Christmas has come and gone and new years is quickly approaching. I still can't believe how fast  the year came and went, but here we are, counting down the days of 2011. Tony and I have been talking a lot about our goals for 2012, both as a family and individually.  I LOVE GOAL MAKING! And list making. I love to plan!
But first a little recap of our holiday!

First off, I think I have been sick or otherwise not well all of December. UGH. First I had a terrible cold which, no joke, lasted for a good 2 and a half weeks.  Just when I thought I was better, I woke up with a toothache which quickly became HORRIBLE.  After a dentist appointment I found out I had a tooth abscess and infection.  So another round of antibiotics, vicodin, and a heating pad for my horribly swollen face. No fun. Then the week before Christmas came and I had so much to do still! The family slideshow, wrap a million presents, get the Christmas cards mailed, bake treats, Ahhh! I did manage to get everything done. Christmas was once again, amazing.  I don't know where or when it happens exactly, but somewhere or sometime growing up, the joy of Christmas changes.  I could care less about my own gifts, I was just so excited to give my friends, family and hubby the best Christmas ever.   I was so excited for Tony to open his presents from me! And spending the day with my family and his family was just perfect.  I love the holidays!! It was so great to spend time with my siblings and parents.  We played games, opened presents, watched the family slideshow of the year and of course ate tons of turkey and stuffing! YUM!! I was so excited to give the fam their presents and cards.  And eating the famous Ricker Cherry cheesecake..and pumpkin pie was wonderful also :) Santa brought us some pretty amazing things this year too :)  Tony got Kings tickets, video games, TONS of 49er things, a new beautiful watch, and a few other things.  And he brought me the amazing fireplace I wanted for our bedroom!!!! A few bracletts that I love ( Juicy!) some Victoria secret perfumes and lotions, a cute pink workout jacket and a forever 21 gift card. I know, I'm a spoiled wife! Tony is too good to me. Im a lucky lady :)
Jimmer got coal this year because he has been a bad dog all year.

Just kidding lol, We gave him a huge meaty bone, which he divowered in about 12 minutes.

I love my fireplace! So cozy!!
We have so much to be grateful for! I am so grateful for my wonderful life with the hubbs.  We have so much fun together and the holidays make me feel especially grateful.  Grateful for hubby, the gospel, my family and friends, and our awesome life.  I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for us!

Christmas time is here!!!!

The best part about thanksgiving is that Christmas time is just a day away!! We started setting up for Christmas a few days before thanksgiving so everything is pretty much up! A fire in the fireplace.. Christmas music on.. presents soon to be under the tree.. My favorite time of the year!
Speaking of presents.. I went out for Black friday this year. WOW! It was worse than I could have ever imagined!  I did manage to get a few good deals though.  There were so many people out shopping, even before midnight! Completely crazy.  I heard a little boy got trampled in Walmart and they had to call an ambulance. Leave your children at home people, its dangerous out there!

Jimmer getting in the Christmas spirit while I wrap presents.
Today I am baking a four layer chocolate cake with peppermint frosting for the festival of Tree's.  I also need to wrap a ton of presents, buy tickets for the Messiah and the Nutcracker, get ready for Christmas photos this week, find the list of addresses for Christmas cards, walk the dog, meet with Visiting teachers and class tonight.  Wish me luck!

Vegas!

Hubby is home!! YAY! We actually flew out to Vegas last week to surprise him before the Vegas House of Blues show, but the show got cancelled! Tesla's lead singer got sick and so the last few dates had to be postponed. Can you believe it? So here I was in Vegas ready to surprise Tony and he was in California.  ha! So We just flew him out as soon as we found out and we got to have some fun before we flew home! And boy oh boy did we have fun... We had a blast driving up and down the strip, going out on the boat, shopping and seeing a show. ( Mystere by Circque du Soliel was awesome!) Big thanks to Uncle Stan for being such a great host!
Also, the first half of the tour went great! It was sooo  exciting to see pictures of some of the venues they got to play and the amount of people in them.  Some places were even sold out with a couple thousand, so cool right? The next half of the tour will be a for sure thing now and starts in February.  They get to play all up and down the East coast! I'm so jealous! Tony wants to fly me over for the New York shows, but we will have to see how broke we are after Christmas lol.  I would sure love to go see New York though...
and BBS of course. ;)
Here are a few pictures!

My cup is half full

Today I have been feeling overly blessed and just so grateful. I truly know how much our Heavenly father loves each one of us and knows us so well.  I feel the love of my savior daily and today especially.  I know my Father in Heaven knows exactly what I need in every aspect in my life.  He knows my marriage, he knows my feelings, he knows my dreams.  I feel so lucky so be so head over heels in love with the most handsome,  smart, funny, talented, spiritual giant that I have ever met.  Sometimes I think that my husband has to love me more than any husband out there loves their wives :)  ( And I just choose to keep believing that ;)  ) I have such wonderful in laws, so kind and generous and loving. So welcoming and selfless and a perfect example to me. I have a wonderful sister, mom and family too that continue to love and support me.  And last but not least we have a crazy, destructive, beast of a pup that we couldn't love more.  I love the gospel, I love my Heavenly Father and I love my husband. Life can be so wonderful,  if you just let it.

Early bird special

So as some of you may know, I hate waking up in the morning. Hate.  I have always struggled to get out of bed no matter how much sleep I got that night.  My parents used to get so frustrated with me because I was always  rushing out the door, doing my make-up, eating breakfast and whatever else as I sped to class or work.  So waking up for school this semester is no different.  Apparently my dear husband has been getting tired of the morning battle.  Monday morning started out like any other day, me pleading for 10 more minutes and Tony telling me to wake up 50 times.  As I was just about to get up ( Yea right, I was almost asleep again)  I hear this horribly loud angry scream " HEATHER GET OUT OF BED!" Tony was about an inch from my face yelling like I was two blocks away.  I nearly fell out of bed I was so scared.  Needless to say I was in a terrible mood for the rest of the day.

So of course I very kindly explained how I know I am a pain to get out of bed but that is just something he is going to have to deal with and perhaps he could think of a more relaxing, calm, gentle, blissful way to get me out of bed.

I think my talk worked.

So, this morning I woke up to a very different alarm.
I woke up to the soft sound of Celine Deon's Titanic song. haha!  Tony was holding the phone next to me as it played " every night in my dreams...."    " Is this better" ? haha. I couldn't help but laugh hysterically.  I love my silly husband!

Summer has come to an end...

Well I think summer is just about officially over.  School is back in session and its starting to get dark a little earlier. Tony and I are both full time students this semester and for the first time EVER have class together! (Although we knew each other in high school we didn't go to the same school and never attended college together, so this is super fun!) It is really great having him to do homework or study with!  Tony is an incredible student to the surprise of both of us. ( He has always hated it..)  But he is actually really enjoying his classes and doing really well in them!

Jimmer the dog is completely house trained now ( thank goodness) and can "sit" and "shake Paw".   He gets his last shot this week and then we can take him out on walks, to dog parks, around other dogs etc.  The only sad news is that he has a little cyst that will have to be removed asap so he will have to stay a night at the Vet while getting neutered and the cyst removed.  Poor baby!

Tony has been working on a ton of band stuff ( as you've probably seen us post on FB) They are working on getting a new tour van which is easier said than done!  The Built By Stereo CD comes on on Itunes and Amazon.com on September 13!  Finally! We haven't got a release date for stores yet but all in due time.

Me and Sourdough Sam trying to have a moment
A couple of weeks ago we went over to my parents to celebrate their anniversary.  How many years you ask? oh you know, 49!! Crazy, right? They are such a great example.  Still flirt, act silly, hold hands, cuddle while watching tv and smooch in public.  I love my parents!

We've also been excited for football season!  Go niners! We went to training camp in Santa Clara and Fan-Fest at Candlestick Stadium. So fun!  He is hopeful for a new season. Never mind that last preseason game. We are forever faithful.

Here are a few photos.
